Dr Muntaser Musameh addresses the Convergence on Canberra rally at Parliament House in Canberra, 20 July 2025.

On 20 and 22 July 2025, protestors converged on Parliament House in Canberra, Australia, to protest against the ongoing Genocide taking place in Gaza. The protest ‘Convergence on Canberra - Sanction Israel Now’ coincided with the start of the 48th Parliament of Australia. After a landslide victory for the Labor Party in the 2025 federal election, protestors took specific aim at Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong, who many accuse of being weak in their response to Israel’s ongoing murder, starvation, and Genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. On Sunday, 20 July, over 1000 people gathered on the front lawn of Parliament House, before marching to the United States Embassy, followed by the Israeli Embassy. Two days later, on Tuesday, 22 July, with the first day of parliament taking place, numerous speakers addressed the crowd, including Senator Fatima Payman, an ex-Labor senator who now leads a new political party, ‘Australia’s Voice’.

Photographs made over the two days are now available for purchase, with all profits to be donated to Sadaqa Welfare Fund.
